Carol McBee is connecting "mompreneurs" from all across the city

By Amber Tienkamp

Once a week, Carol McBee organizes the arrival of about 60 moms and 60 babies into her local church. No, she’s not running a daycare or a torture chamber. McBee operates a six-week program called Mommy Connections, where new moms can network and share information about parenthood with other mothers in the same community.

Given its success, McBee is mobilizing moms for a new venture called Bossy Mama, which hosts a monthly event and a social networking website that connect self-employed moms and help them with business affairs.

“I look at Bossy Mama as a platform for moms,” says McBee, who is also a stay-at-home “mompreneur.” “The women on this website are CEOs of their own companies. And regardless of the age or number of children [they raise], they are all successful business women.” bossymama.ca
