As an architectural symbol of new thinking, the Art Gallery of Alberta was the perfect setting for Avenue's 2010 Top 40 Under 40 ceremony and reception.

More than 300 people came to see the unveiling of last month's issue profiling Greater Edmonton's top 40 brave thinkers, bold entrepreneurs and evocative artists under the age of 40. Hosted by Melissa Dominelli of CTV News and catered by in-house restaurant Zinc, the October 27 event also featured a concert by songstress Katie Perman.

"It was a real honour," says artist and columnist Fish Griwkowsky, who was named in the Class of 2010. "The mayor waved to me from across the room and mimed typing, then gave me a thumbs-up. How cool is that?"
