Canada’s cherished poet and singer-songwriter is displaying a collection of his sketches and drawings at the Agnes Bugera Gallery (12310 Jasper Ave.) starting on November 17, a day before his highly anticipated Edmonton concert at Rexall Place.

“We have a partnership with the Graneville Fine Art in Vancouver, where some of [Cohen’s] art is displayed,” explains gallery owner Agnes Bugera. “[Cohen’s] representatives approached us with the idea and I have tons of his CDs, I love his work, so of course I said yes.”

Cohen, a McGill University graduate in 1955, has released twelve albums of original music, two novels and fourteen collections of poetry, some of which have featured his sketches and drawings, including 2006’s Book of Longing.

The gallery runs until December 1. The Agnes Bugera Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
